The face-to-face event "AI Regulation, Democracy, and Sovereignty" was held at the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV Direito Rio) on April 24, 2024, at 9 a.m. to discuss artificial intelligence issues.

LabSul took part in the event through researcher Gustavo Silveira Borges, who made up table 2 alongside other leading professors and researchers Filipe Medon, Yasmin Curzi, and Caitlin Mulholland, with mediation by journalist Fernanda da Escóssia.

The discussions at table 2, held from 10.20 a.m. to 11.40 a.m., delved into the crucial challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence and its profound impact on democracy and elections.

The experts also discussed the new forms of disinformation generated by Artificial Intelligence and which public policies can contribute to creating digital sovereignty.
