On May 28, 2025, the official launch of the book Direitos das Plataformas Digitais (Digital Platform Rights), organized and funded by LabSul, took place at the Library of the Federal Supreme Court. The event marked a moment of celebration and reflection on the contemporary challenges of human rights in the digital environment.
Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, who authored the preface of the book, delivered a speech that significantly elevated the event. He was followed by remarks from co-authors Juliana Oliveira Domingues and Thobias Prado Moura. The closing address was given by Gustavo Borges, coordinator of the book and Executive Director of LabSul.
The speeches emphasized the relevance of the topic and the need for a pluralistic debate on regulation, technology, and fundamental rights.
The event was attended by federal judges, court officials, researchers, representatives of civil society organizations, and invited guests, all of whom followed the launch with great interest.
The book offers a critical and up-to-date analysis of the role of digital platforms in contemporary society, proposing pathways for digital governance that align with democratic principles and fundamental rights. It represents a valuable contribution to the strengthening of a legal culture grounded in ethics, inclusion, and justice in the digital age.
LabSul thanks all those in attendance and hopes that the publication will help illuminate the debate on human rights, emerging technologies, and their intersection in a balanced and democratic manner.
