LABSUL PARTICIPATES IN THE TASK FORCE OF THE CNJ IN RORAIMA ON DIGITAL INCLUSION OF ATTENTION TO INDIGENOUS AND VENEZUELANS’ REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS IN SITUATION OF THE STREET

A member of LABSUL participated in the Task Force of the National Council of Justice for a technical visit in Boa Vista, between March 1st and 3rd, 2023, to the State of Roraima, together with Counselor Mário Goulart Maia and Federal Judges, to assist the indigenous and VenezuelanRefugees and migrants people living on the streets, to fill gaps in this population so that they can have access to justice and citizenship.
The LABSUL member’s participation took place to build, based on dialogues on digital inclusion, an inter-institutional network to assist homeless people in Roraima.
In this technical visit, it was proposed the implementation of a local commitment involving the Court of Justice and the School of the Judiciary of Roraima, in addition to the state and Union Public Defenders, the Public Ministry (state and federal), with the support of the Advocacy- General of the Union (AGU), the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), the Federal Police and the Immigration Police Station, among other public bodies.
In addition, technical visits were made to the places where homeless people live in Boa Vista, and interviews were applied so that those involved in the task force could extract this population’s primary needs and characteristics. Next, the following steps were taken for the Justice System and other local agents to act in the application of the determinations of CNJ Resolution n. 425/2021.
Also, the group participated in a Public Hearing at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Roraima to discuss creating public policies for homeless people in the state of Roraima.
