From June 23 to 29, 2024, LabSul participated in an intense week of activities at the InternetLab School. The event brought together 35 selected members of the public and private sectors, civil society organizations, and academia for an in-depth look at integrity and security on the Internet.
During the immersion, topics such as content moderation, integrity and safety (Trust & Safety), generative artificial intelligence, proactive content detection, political violence based on gender and race, and the workings of the Oversight Board were covered. Highlights included a visit to Google, where participants learned about the search engine's mechanisms for content moderation and the pre-launch of the "Young People and Short Videos" survey in partnership with TikTok.
The classes were given by renowned experts, including Francisco Brito Cruz, Fernanda Martins, Ester Borges, Clarice Tavares and Iná Chaves, all from InternetLab, as well as Diogo Cortiz, Thiago Oliva (Oversight Board), Leah Kimathi (Kenya) and Dércio Tsandzana (Mozambique).
LabSul's participation was marked by enriching discussions and exchanging experiences, strengthening our commitment to digital security and integrity.
