LABSUL MINISTERS WORKSHOP ON DISINFORMATION IN THE TSE

A representative of LABSUL ministered at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) on June 29 and 30, 2022, a Workshop entitled “Social Media, Disinformation and Content Moderation” for members of the Special Advisory Office for Combating Disinformation (AEED), responsible for the elaboration of the Strategic Plan designed by the TSE for the 2022 Elections to Combat Disinformation and other servers of the Electoral Justice of the Brazilian States.

The Permanent Program to Combat Misinformation by the Electoral Justice – PPED was established by Ordinance-TSE No. 510 on August 4, 2021.

LABSUL participated in the following jointly developed actions to combat Disinformation in the Electoral Process and to strengthen confidence in electoral institutions, especially in the context of the 2022 Elections, with technical and specialized knowledge on (i) Media content moderation social services to combat misinformation; (ii) International Business and Human Rights Standards, Content Policies, Values, and social media community standards on Disinformation; (iii) International experiences of post-regulation of “counter-disinformation” to strengthen Democracy; (iv) Transparency of moderation criteria in social media.

These participations were possible based on expertise in international practices, awareness campaigns on Disinformation and media, and information education actions for the external public, linked to Axis 2 – Training: Media Literacy and Training of the TSE Program.
